candidates who have already successfully completed the ACLS Provider Course. The role and scope of practice of
healthcare providers can vary greatly, so there are no profession-specific guidelines for becoming an AHA Instructor in a
specific discipline. Instructor candidates should exemplify integrity, demonstrate strong ethics, communicate clearly,
and model a dedication to quality of training.

ACLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students will enhance their skills in the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

The goal of the PALS Provider Course is to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by
preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory
emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and
high-quality individual skills. This course uses precourse preparation, didactic instruction, and active
participation in learning stations and simulated cases.
