Students learn the basic entry-level nursing skills to work in the healthcare setting as a Certified Nursing Aid. Curriculum includes providing or assisting in client care, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, feeding, and use of equipment, documenting, and reporting the general well-being of the resident.

Theory and clinical study will provide necessary information and skills needed in long-term, home care, and acute care settings to take the Montana Department of Health, State Competency Evaluation Examination, which is required for the Nursing Assistant State Registry.

Behavioral Health Courses

The Behavioral Health training programs aim to enhance the quality of education and clinical training in behavioral health, increasing the number of practicing professionals and paraprofessionals. Emphasizing the integration of behavioral health into primary care, these programs also focus on training in rural and community-based settings to produce providers who will serve high-need areas.

These initiatives support an effective and sustainable behavioral health workforce, strengthening care delivery and improving access to services throughout Montana. Innovative training approaches support employer operations and equip the workforce with skills to meet community needs. Various trainings are offered, which can be taken as stand-alone courses or as part of tiered programs.
